We have heard of crazy things sold on eBay. Now, you can bid for six Jetpack flights starting at $30’000, right on eBay! Glenn Martin, the designer of the Martin Jetpack, says that after your experience, you’ll be designated a Martin Jetpack test pilot.
The Martin Jetpack was unveiled at the big AirVenture airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. But the audience was disappointed to see it only hover a few feet off the ground.
Glenn Martin is trying to get his product into the tourism business. He wants tourists to have a “jetpack experience”. However such tourists could only fly 3-4 feet off the ground at a maximum of 6 mph.
Yet, the machine’s full capacity is far beyond what has been demonstrated. Glenn Martin states that the Martin Jetpack can fly 8,000 feet high 30 miles far.
For the eBay event, the jetpack’s performance will be adapted to the winner’s experience level. Any person over the age of 18 with a driver’s license and under the weight of 90 kg is eligible to participate.
